As an endeavour to promote Mauritius as a golfing destination, MTPA India sponsored “The Summer Trophy” Golf tournament at the Unitech Golf Club in Delhi on 20th June. The event, with nearly one hundred players from top corporates in Delhi was organized in collaboration with GolfLan. The day-night tournament, which finished under floodlights, had prizes in three handicap categories. In addition to the prizes winners, eight lucky draw winners walked away with MTPA branded Srixxon golf bags.
The winners of each category were given half board couple stay vouchers by Constance, Beachcomber and Shanti Maurice hotels. The day ended with a delightful networking cocktail dinner. Mr Vivek Anand, Country Manager, Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority said, “Mauritius, besides being an ideal round the year destination for the entire family, has seven championship level Golf courses. In May this year Mauritius hosted the AfrAsia Bank tournament with prize money of one million Euros, which saw the participation of some top Indian Golfers as well. MTPA is planning to host more events of this nature in India to promote Mauritius as a golfing & luxury destination.” He also added that golfers who choose to visit Mauritius for their sporting holiday can also enjoy the stunning beaches, adventures sports, spa treatment, rum tasting and many more activities.
