If you are thinking of an amazing Southeast Asain destination that shares historic link and cultural similarities with Bengal, Vietnam is the place. In today’s world, the country has emerged as a holiday lover’s dream with every corner of its tourism hotspots having a visual wonder. For Bengal travel bugs the destination holds a plethora of enthusiasm. With an effort to educate travel groups and tourists of kolkata about Vietnam as a prospective tourist destination, the embassy of Socialist Republic of Vietnam in association with Jet Airways hosted Vietnam Tourism Night on 27 Jaunuary in Kolkata.

When we say Kolkata has strong historic connection with Vietnam, we go back to 1958 where Hi Chi Minh, President of Vietnam made a visit to New Delhi and Kolkata.

According to Ton Sinh Thanh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. “We intend to draw Indian tourists to offer a boost to tourism and we would be hosting roadshows across all Indian metros. This incidentally i our premier tourism event in Kolkata and we wish to go to places like New Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Kolkata is the nearest metro for South-East Asian countries and the residents have fond, bygone memories of the Vietnam War. We have plenty of attractions to offer to Indian tourists who are making big travel plans to fly down to South-East Asian destinations.
